I do not want to be in the number. Since moving to Camdenton, MO to our home right in the heart of the town we have been battling ants in our home. We have since learned that ants own this town from our new favorite pest controller Ken Schaumberg, owner of Best Pest Control.

About a month or so back we started seeing ants in three areas inside the house. We had Best Pest out twice to get the situation under control. When the ants didn’t go away that is when we met Ken due to our confusion in why after two visits we still had ants in our house every day. After Ken’s visit we straightened things out with the correct baiting strategy and things were going great.

Two days ago while watching tv at night we saw some flying ants in the house. We tried to kill them as we found them but there were a lot. Then yesterday I found several thousand winged carpenter ants and the workers outside on a planter under some rocks and then found a large number on our porch and then the unfortunate, we found several hundred on our window frame inside the house. Â I immediately doused the bugs outside under several cups of instectide. The trails on the porch and in the house got plenty of the bait placed in their path. The ants swarmed the bait and this morning we found some dead ants and also some new trails making a run for it.

After finding the swarm of ants in the house I immediately called Best Pest Control of Camdenton to make sure they could come out first thing in the morning to help assess the situation. Ken Schaumburg was kind enough to come out in person again and talk about the situation. In finding the ant colonies on the move he sprayed the entire house to hopefully get those ants away from the house.

Turns out that the 6 inches of rain this week probably flooded out the ants and forced them to seek higher and drier shelter. Well sorry for the bugs, there is no vacancy at this inn.
