Storenvy Shop Interview: walk in love. Clothing
TP: So what is walk in love. clothing all about?
love: Walk in love. clothing is simple. We are dedicated to selling well-designed, high quality clothing with a positive and inspiring message. That message is a reminder to imitate God by loving others every chance we get - no strings attached. We believe that Jesus came and showed us how to be that message.
We want you to walk in love.
TP: You are a husband and wife team. Who comes up with designs?
love: We both come up with designs. I (T.J.) started the company before I was married and came up with all the initial designs. I started dating Brooke in May of 2008 and we got married the following year. Ever since we've been together the design aspect has been a team effort. We also just recently launched walk in love. clothing collaboration, which is a partnership between walk in love. clothing and artists to empower them to create and sell great t-shirts.
TP: What has been the biggest challenge starting this online shop?
love: I think the biggest challenge for us has always been trying to do as much as we can without spending a lot of money. Our goal has always been to sell as many shirts without a huge advertising bill, so the challenge is getting people to our store through all the free marketing tools out there today.
TP: Why did you choose to switch from Big Cartel to Storenvy?
love: I had started using storenvy to do all of our printing a year or two ago and I just loved working with them. Once they opened their free stores I knew that it would be easy to use and free so by switching I end up saving $240 a year and when your a small t-shrit company that extra $240 comes in handy. Also storenvy are the best, most efficient screenprinters around. They treat you fairly, they work quickly and their quality is unbeatable.
TP: What has been the biggest benefit to your business using Storenvy?
love: There are probably two really big benefits to using storenvy. The first being that you save money by using there store for free and the second being the social shopping, which allows people to post your products to facebook, twitter and so on.
TP: I see you used a designer for your store. What were your reasons for choosing to go with a custom design?
love: The main reason is branding. walk in love. clothing has always been based around simple and clean design. Even though the storenvy default stores are rather clean and simple we didn't want our customers to feel like they were leaving our site when they clicked on shop, we wanted it to be a seamless, easy transistion from our blog to our shop. I think when you get sent to a shop and it looks way different from the blog it makes you feel like there brand isn't solid and when I'm buying something I want to be able to not only buy into a product but buy into a brand.
TP: Do you have any exciting news or events coming up?
love: Yes! We have a brand new summer line coming in this week and we'll be unveiling it at Creation Music Festival in Mount Union, PA from June 30-July 3, as well as Purple Door Music Festival in Lewisberry, PA on August 13-14. We will also have a kiosk in the Park City Mall in November and December for the 3rd year in a row in Lancaster, PA. We are also really trying to push our collaboration so if you are an artist out there looking for a place to start selling your shirts make sure you contact us. tj@walkinloveclothing.com
